An EKG or ECG (electrocardiogram) measures the heart’s electrical activity (generated by the heart as it contracts) to help the CHC staff evaluate the hearts function and identify any cardiac abnormalities. The machine that records the patient’s EKG is called an electrocardiograph. There is nothing painful about getting an EKG. The test simply helps our staff determine the rate and regularity of heartbeats, the size and position of the heart’s chambers, and whether there is any damage present.
